Alternate Ending
So at the end of A Dolls House Nora ended up leaving her Torvald to become an independent woman and to educate herself. Also she leaves her children with the Maid to take care of them. Ibsen not only wrote this ending but wrote an alternate ending which he did not publish. In that ending Nora ended up staying with Torvald instead of leaving the house and packing. If it was up to me I would have Nora leave too. To continue this story I would have Nora go and get work. So that she knows how it feels to not have to hide what she does. Torvald ends up learning what she has been doing and is shocked to know that Nora is actually capable of being independent without him. A few years pass by and he misses Nora so he decides to try and get her back saying that he has changed but she doesn't want him. She now knows what she deserves and she doesn't want her life to end up how it was again. She comes for her kids but not for Torvald. Instead she finds a man who actually treats her like a woman and listens to her and she listens to him like a real married couple. Not like shes his little Doll.

Act 2
Many different things have occurred in act 2! lets start of by saying how crazy Helmer went off on Nora about Krogstad. We all know that Krogstad forged signatures and has a "bad reputation". Helmer HATES him and wants nothing to do with him. He went on and on about how he was a liar and how he even feels sick even being around people like Krogstad. Little does he know his little songbird Nora has done the same exact thing! I bet she felt like such a hypocrite knowing that she did the same thing that krogstad did. I know Nora was beginning to get even more worried thinking her life was over but in my opinion I feel as if Helmer would've found out one way or another. If only Nora realized how forging her fathers signature was blundered. Good thing Mrs.Linde said she would go and try to talk to Krogstad about it. I don't know if I could trust her or not knowing that they were "close" friends before. But her being her friend I don't see why it would hurt.
Something that really shocked me was Dr.Rank declaring his love for Nora. Who would've thought old Dr.Rank was in love with Nora! Just a friend is what Helmer thinks but really he loves her. Even though Nora doesnt want to be with him and he is dying I agree that Nora and Dr.Rank would've been good for each other. Unlike Helmer he didn't treat her like a little girl. He actually treated her with love and cared about what she had to say. He didn't think that she was a "featherbrain". Too bad hes going to die.Back to Nora and Helmer. I wonder what will happen about the letter. Will he read it? hmm...

Secrets and Macaroons Act I
Act 1 of The Dolls House house was pretty interesting. It showed me a lot about the characters and who they really are. There were some secrets revealed also. Even though Helmer was to have an advancement in his job Nora had her little secret up her sleeve. I was in shock to know that Nora of all people borrowed money to pay for there trip to Italy. I think that even though Helmer treats Nora as a little girl and as if she doesn't know anything. Nora really is smarter than he knows. To me they have a weird relationship, I dont think a husband should talk to their wife like that. She also looks at herself as a very ravishing and great person. You can tell by the way she acts towards Mrs.Linde. I'm not very sure if Mrs.Linde trusts her very much now that she knows the lie that Nora has told her husband, since women weren't supposed to do that in that time. So far I like Nora she seems very smart and also has a little sassy part to her, I think she knows what shes doing.
Krogstads a Problem to me. I know that she forged her fathers signature but I don't think that he should be blackmailing her. Especially since now Helmer is going to fire him. I wonder whats going to happen. I predict that Krogstad is going to find out more secrets that Nora may have or Helmer will find out that Nora lied. "When Im near people like that, I actually feel physically ill". That's what Torvald had to say about Krogstad being a liar. I wonder how he would feel if he knew HIS own WIFE did the exact same crime as Krogstad, a person that he hates being around. I wonder if Nora's lies will catch up with her and she will be looked at as a degenerate by Helmer.

To start off my name is Kai Francis and this is my first post on my blog. This year my English class was way more exciting than last year and there are different things that I enjoy about it. I actually enjoy reading the stories that we read in class. So far all of the stories that we have read I enjoyed and didn't really get bored. I also enjoy having Ms. Santos and Ms. Pettigrew as teachers. They make class more fun, and make me want to participate in class more. So far since I've enjoyed reading most of the storied I'm pretty sure that A Doll's House will be no different.
The author of A Doll's House, Henrik Isben, wrote this play in Germany in the year of 1868. He was born on March 20, 1828 in Norway. He was a Playwright, poet, and theater director. Many of his plays including this was were considered scandalous in his time of living. The title might relate to the story as having alot of different parts and characters. Doll houses are complex and have different rooms and dolls. So it also may have something to do with a family and there life. Usually when you have a doll house you have dolls representing different people in the house. The major themes in the play are family, gender, corruption religion and more. It sounds interesting and I cant wait to start reading what the play is all about.
